Charleston Design District Launching This Fall at Navy Yard

Big things are happening at the Navy Yard! This fall, Charleston will welcome the Charleston Design District—a dynamic new hub for designers, makers, and home décor enthusiasts. This thoughtfully curated space will feature premium showrooms, innovative maker spaces, and a stunning rooftop dining experience.
🏡 A New Destination for Design
Nestled within the historic Charleston Naval Base, the Charleston Design District will offer 150,000 sqft of showroom space, bringing together some of the most sought-after names in home furnishings. Industry leaders Kravet, Schumacher, and Textures will open their first-ever Charleston showrooms, alongside local favorites like The Urban Electric Co., Fritz Porter, and Smithey Ironware Company.
✨ What to Expect
📍 Storehouse Row: A collection of beautifully repurposed turn-of-the-century storehouses, now home to world-class design showrooms.
🌟 Featured Showrooms:
-
Kravet – Exclusive home furnishings (Storehouse Eight)
-
Schumacher & Patterson Flynn – High-end fabrics, wallpaper, and luxury rugs (Storehouse Eight)
-
Textures – Curated wood flooring solutions (Storehouse Nine)
🍽 Elevated Dining with a View
Atop Storehouse Nine, the district will feature an 8,200-sqft rooftop restaurant by Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, offering breathtaking views of the Cooper River and historic shipyard. Expect an unforgettable dining experience in a space designed to inspire.
All of this makes for exciting updates and beautification of Park Circle as plans are under way to begin development of the "New Village" of Park Circle on the strip of water front property between the "Olde Village" (Montague Ave) and River Front Park, which butts up to the new design district of the Navy Yard. Park Circle will continue to be a hot spot of culture, with all 4 of these areas within walking distance of each other!
